Trails

There are three sets of cycle trails in the St Austell area :

Clay Trails : North of St Austell town centre, traffic free child friendly routes. Marked on the map below as the Wheal Martyn and Bugle trails. These are made up of well made paths and tarmac. Some steep hills. The scenic route to Eden will take most people about an hour of cycling.

Pentewan Trail : South of St Austell town centre. Some quiet urban roads, mostly traffic free and child friendly. Paths and some muddy tracks. Follows the Pentewan Valley to the beach. One steep hill up the side of the valley if you turn off for Heligan.

National Cycle Network Route 3 :  To the south and east of the town centre. Busy A roads. Not child friendly. The quickest route to Eden - will take approx 20 minutes.
